PrimaLoft is a special technology used in shoes and clothing, the aim of which is to ensure a perfect thermal insulation and comfort associated with dry clothing or footwear even in the most difficult conditions. Microfibers used as a fill, resemble traditional insulation found in down jackets, with a difference that they are indifferent to the moisture. In addition, do not collapse when crushing or packing in your backpack and take up less space than the traditional down filling.
Natural leather – material from animal hides, with original fibrous structure, tanned to provide resistance to rot and with or without fur or wool. It is also a material made from hide separated into layers or segments before or after tanning. If the leather has a coating, it cannot be thicker than 0.15mm. A material made from mechanically ground or chemically dissolved animal hide with or without a bonding agent is not considered a leather. Types of natural leather: smooth leather, lacquered leather, nubuck, velour, undercoat leather, layered leather.
Textile material – all products in their basic state, semi-processed, semi-manufactured, semi-finished, which consist of a newtwork of natural or artificial fibers, regardless of mixing or combining process.
Other materials – This group include PCV, PU, nylon, caoutchouc, polyester, acetate, acrylic, spandex, orlon, lastex, Kevlar. Synthetic materials and leathers resemble natural leather, but their properties, such as breathability, absorption, conformation to the foot are often not as good as with the natural leather. 1952. Boston – Nathan Swartz is buying shares of a small shoe-making company. In the following years he's buying all other shares becomming sole owner of Abington Shoe Company. Together with his sons he changes the company into a blossoming family business. From 1955 to 1965, Swartz's company is producing footwear for the biggest brands on the market. 1965 has brought a breakthrough, a new idea is born in the owners head, creation of a waterproof shoe intended for difficult weather conditions. What came next was creation of injection-molding technology, which enabled creation of virtually waterproof boots. In 1973 the first in history waterproof boot is created, under the name Timberland. In 1978 Abington Shoe Company changes its name to Timberland Company. Models produced by the Timberland brand are considered as one of the best waterproof boots for bad weather.
